Peanut is really growing this week! Measuring about 17 inches long, she weighs around 5lbs. And from this week, until 2 weeks before birth, she will gain about a half pound of weight every week.
The bones in her skull are formed, but aren't fused. They actually don't fuse entirely until early adulthood, allowing room for her brain to grow through childhood. Because they aren't fused, the bones in her skull will be able to overlap, helping her to fit through the birth canal during delivery.
I have my first Biweekly Dr's visit this week. I cannot believe that we are getting this close. The belly is really growing. So much so that the belly now gets in the way as a try to slide through doorways. Peanuts movements are everywhere. She has really grown this week. Peanut's new thing is to bounce off my rib cage while pushing off my pelvis.... It is a good time!

Week 32 Update-- 8 MONTHS!
This week Peanut is measuring roughly 16.5 inches long, she now weights over 4 pounds! She is sleeping approximately 90 to 95 percent of the day. Most of his wrinkles are disappearing, especially on his face, as more fat is deposited under his skin. Her hair is becoming thicker with each passing week and you may even be able to see it on an ultrasound! She will also begin to settle in the head-down position, as his birth is fast approaching.........
Week 31 Update
Peanut is measuring approximately 16 inches long, she weighs about 4 lbs. 4 whole pounds, wow! And from this week, until 2 weeks before birth, she will gain about a half pound every week.
Peanut is moving around quite a bit in there! It's not uncommon for her continuous movements, which may feel like somersaults, to be keeping you up at night. Her arms, legs and body are also filling out as she continues to develop fat underneath her skin, making those kicks and prods feel even stronger than last week. You may even see an arm or a foot move slowly across your belly!

7 Month Pic
I thought it would be fun to take the picture in the newly painted nursery! The bassinet is a DeBlois family heirloom. Mike and his siblings all spent some first moments in this bassinet and I am so very excited to have it as an addition to our nursery. I ordered the bassinet cover and it is going to look amazing! If you cannot tell I am super excited about our plan and will be posting pictures as the furniture comes in and we add bits and pieces. :)
Week 30 Update
Peanut now measuring close to 15 1/2 inches long, she weighs about 3 lbs. She now almost fills up your entire uterine cavity and her arms and legs have grown much plumper, thanks to the continued growth of subcutaneous fat.
By 30 weeks, her eyelids open and close. She will keep her eyes closed for most of the day though. When her eyes are open, she will be able to track light inside of your womb, though her vision isn't "perfect" or 20/20. Lanugo, or fine hair that once covered her body, will start falling off this week.
In the coming weeks, the volume of amniotic fluid in your belly will decrease as your baby continues to gain weight and take up more space.

The Gym Gets Worse
7 months in and I am still hitting the gym. I am not giving up! However I do seriously worry that my workout is less effective due to the amount of bathroom breaks I need to take.
Tonight I hit the ladies room before I started my workout. so that is 1
I started with the Romanian Dead lifts... Works the quads and back. I want to be sure that my back is strong as I gain the serious weight! This is also a great way to boost the butt!
Helped Mike with his stuff... hit the ladies room. so that is 2
Hit the treadmill 10 min in ladies room trip number 3
Back on the treadmill...home for dinner I am soooo hungry!
Was that really worth it?

Week 28 Update-- The Third Trimester Begins!
Welcome to the Third Trimester! Braxton Hicks ("practice") contractions usually start about now. They'll feel like an intermittent tightening in your abdomen.-- nothing so far.. YIPPEE there is no rush here to bring Peanut into the world!
This week I went for my RH Shot. Because Mike is has a blood type of A+ and I have A- I need to have a shot at 28 weeks and possibly again after giving birth if the baby has A+ blood. Shot was easy!
Peanut has doubled her weight in the past month and is the size of a bag of flour. Measuring just under 15 inches long, she weighs approximately 2 1/4 lbs. She will continue to gain body fat in the coming weeks to prepare her for life outside of your womb.
At 28 weeks, your baby can recognize your voice! Her eyes continue to develop this week and her brain is developing millions of neurons. The hair on her head continues to grow. Muscle tone in her body steadily develops, and even though her lungs are now capable of breathing air, it would be difficult for her if she were born now. Her sucking and swallowing skills are improving.
*** As you all know I was a premie. I might be wrong here but I think this was around the time that I was born. How amazing!
