The Perfect Gift

This was a gift from one of Mike's co-workers and it was so perfect that I had to share. Kayla has the shoes, hat and attitude all she needs now is Daddy's credit card!

First Bath!

First bath at home.
All squeaky clean and ready to eat. I love that she is checking herself out in the mirror I had to snap that one. :0)

First Week Home

During Kayla's first week home we had a follow up visit to the Dr. Everything checked out as good and her weight is continuing to move in the right direction. The dr felt she needed to be on the Neosure supplement for a couple of weeks. Kayla is still in the bottom 5% for her size but what do you expect with two little parents...
10/9 wt; 4 lb 8 oz
10/14 wt; 4 lb 13 oz.... three more oz and she will be 5 lb!

The only thing I don't always get with Dr's is they work to get kids on their "chart". I get that there is a average but I also know that Mike and myself are not average. My dumb dr wanted to put me on growth hormones when I was a kid to make me grow.... Need to keep an eye on that.

October 9th-- Kayla is Coming Home

The call came in while I was at HEB (Texas Grocery Store). I proceeded to buy out the store once I got the call that our little Kayla could come home. Complete with 2 extra bottles of wine, just to be safe.
YIPPEE YIPPEE Kayla is now home...ahh now what do I do? Doesn't the nurse come home with me? Oh well I will figure it out sleep deprived and all.
Let the fun begin!

Our Last Day At the Hospital

What a cutie pie! Kayla is getting ready to go home!

Gifts for Kayla

Ms. Frances was kind enough to make this hat for Kayla and send it on to her. It is one of the only hats that fit her and it was such a fantastic surprise. This one will be a keeper! Thank you Frances!!!!!!!!!!

Angel Sleeping

Our Angel Kayla sleeps...

Kayla Update

Kayla Marie has been working hard on growing at the hospital since she was born slightly early on 9/23. Kayla needed to work through two things in order to come home.

1-- Maintain her body temp, CHECK
2-- Eat, CHECK

Now that Kayla is eating consistently she will be evaluated over a 48 hour period and can come home if all goes well and she passes a car seat test she will be discharged.

Week Two Photos

Kayla was a little hungry when I took these pictures. Which is the reason she has her mouth open in every one of them!

Updated pictures of the nursery. I still need to figure out the decal and some pictures. Lastly I need to find something for the window. Thank you Bobbie for the bedding!
