Two Month Dr Visit

Kayla had her 2 month Dr visit. Here are the highlights.....

Wt: 7 lb 8 oz
Kayla is in the 4% which means she is still small but growing....Seriously we did not expect her to be average.
Immunization: First 4 shots in. Kayla took the shots well but was not happy later when her leg hurt. She ran a slight fever but nothing a little Tylenol could not fix.
All and all Kayla is doing well.. YIPPEE

Two Month Update

Within the second month of life Kayla should be....

* Vocalize in ways other then crying-- Kayla has discovered her voice she loves to coo but also loves to yell out or squeal in a high pitched voice. I will say she is being heard.

* Respond to noise--- The dogs bark and Kayla startles

* On stomach lift head 45 degrees-- Kayla is getting stronger and stronger and is able to lift her head 45 degrees. She can also hold up her head steady for a bit before she gets tired and look side to side.

* On stomach rise chest supported by arms-- Kayla has just started to do this in her 9th week of life. It is amazing to watch her achieve these milestones.

* Grasp a rattle in her hands-- We are working hard on this one. Kayla will grasp small things like the strap on the camera or pull your hair. Several times she got my hair and my necklace. While the grandparents were here there was a lot of chest hair pulling.

* Smile-- This has been the best milestone yet. Kayla smiles and it will melt your heart, I promise you. Just recently she had added in a squeal of delight which is so much fun! Kayla has also started responding to my smile. Not every time I smile at her but at least once a day.

Couple of things we are working on...

Still working the tummy time

Reaching for objects... not sure on this one yet

Focus on a small object-- I need better confirmation

Sleepy Wednesday

Chilly weather here in San Antonio. Temp today will be in the lower 60's with no sun ( Yea yea you northerners are prob thinking this is shorts weather. But I will challenge you all that when it is 98 degrees out with lots of hot sun and humidity. Then flips to a dry overcast 60 degrees you would be cold too!) Kayla and I decided it was a great day to just chill on the couch and sleep. And so that is exactly what we did. Kayla had a little milk and I had some water and we slept away the afternoon... Enjoying every moment.

Updates to Kayla's Room

I did it I bought a valance....said I would never do it... UGH... I tell myself only for Kayla's room.
I purchased a decal for the wall but discovered after talking to [a] decals are a pain and will not work on textured walls.. so I had to come up with another idea. Deb and I decided to put the decal on craft paper and frame it... Here is the updated room pic.. I love it!

Wondering what the decal says........

Deb Meet's Kayla

Deb came this week to visit Kayla and keep me from going stir crazy. We had a blast! As always good things must come to a end and I dropped Deb off at the airport this morning and I bet she is so excited to not be woken up by a screaming baby at 2 AM.

There was a lot of Kayla time... feeding, burping, diapering, swaddling, bathing, kissing and hugging!

There was also a lot of Sandi/Deb time.. We shopped, ate, shopped, created a decal, ate some more, watched a few chick flicks, took about 300 pictures and laughed a whole lot!
Thanks Deb for all that you do!
