As we moved into Week 37 everything was moving along as usual. My Dr apt on Wed was normal. I was a bit tired but nothing that seemed abnormal for being 9 months pregnant.
They Story........
However, Thursday morning I was feeling pretty crampy. I actually thought it was just gas or constipation. Around 9 in the morning I told my manager that I needed to lay down for a bit. I jokingly told her I was not in labor.... About 10 am I went back to work still feeling off but not to bad. Around 2:00 I was on a conference call transitioning work. When I felt this gush of fluid.... I did a quick check and ummm things were not normal! I told those on the call that I needed to log off and IMed my manager. Sorry Tamika for scaring you! I ran into the bathroom to assess the situation and the fluid kept coming... this was not a test... I called Mike and told him "I am bleeding come home' I called my Dr and got ready for the Hospital. Mike showed up threw me in the car along with a half packed hospital bag and we headed to the hospital. I was escorted to triage and there we confirmed my water had broke.. Peanut was not in distress. However, today would be the day that we would finally see her.
Peanut was in breech position. Which means my Dr would only perform a c-section. Around 5ish I went in for the epidural and we got started on the c-section. It really only took about 30 min start to finish and at 5:56 on 9/23/2010 Our little Peanut was born.... Kicking and screaming I might add. She came to Mike and I full of energy and sticking her tongue out at us.
Peanut was born with low birth weight for gestational age. I was 37.5 weeks along and only weight 4.2 lbs upon delivery and was 15 inch long. Peanut was moved to NICU for evaluation. The Dr's confirmed she was in good health just needed to get her weight up before coming home.
She certainly made it all about her! I'm so happy for you both.. you three!
